soundslides: publishing on one of my web pages

MAKING A CUSTOM SIZE PROJECT
TO FIT ON MY WEB PAGE

* Go MODIFY > Output Sizes and make CUSTOM size to fit the cell on your web page.
When determining the size of your project to place on the web, you'll need 30 pixels to the height that will be used to ensure the controller appears in your project. In the example to the right, the movie is 450x300. The cell swf file is inserted in Dreamweaver is 450x334 and the cell that it fit in is 460x366 (I allow changed the background color within the cell to black to allow for a "frame" around the swf file).

* When modifying the size in Soundslides, UNCHECK Full-Screen enabled--it won't work when project in this situation.

* Captions: Choose default option.

* TEMPLATE:

Color preset: plain_black

— UNCHECK Show header - you probably don't need it.

— UNCHECK Center in HTML.

— UNCHECK Show Sizes

— UNCHECK Play automatically unless the viewer is expecting to hear/see movie play when goes to the page.

— UNCHECK Loop slide show unless you have a reason for contiuous play.

* When you have the slideshow that you want, click SAVE and the EXPORT. A folder "publish to web" will be created in your project folder. You can change the name of that folder but DON'T change names within that folder unless you're familiar with html. Also, you delete the "index.html" in the "publish to web" folder—you won't be needing it when you pubish your files to the web. Remember, if you do rename the "publish to web" folder, no spaces in the name. You could do something like this:
"pawn_shop_ss". Now you can drag that "publish to web" folder (or whatever you renamed it) into your web site folder.

TO PUT SLIDESHOW ON THIS PAGE:

* Drag that "publish to web" folder (or whatever you renamed it) into your web site folder.

* If you're working in Dreamweaver:

— Click in the cell that you're going to place the swf file in (my cell is 460x366 and I've changed the background color in the cell to black and have the cursor centered in the cell).

— Then, in Dreamweaver's menu bar at the top of your desktop,
Insert > Media > Plugin and choose within your Dreamweaver site "files" window, select your Soundslides folder for this project (I named my folder "pawn_shop_ss) and then select "soundslide.swf
".

— A small swf icon appears at the top, middle of your cell. In the properties window, change the W (width) to the width of your swf file (for me, it was 450) and change H to the height you made your movie plus about 30 pixels (the example is 300 and I added 30 to it) to have the controller appear under the project when it plays. The number of pixels you add may vary depending on the size of your customized size.

* The file should now work on your web page when your preview it. Then, publish as you would any other element when you publish to your site.

shows on it: MCRD Command Museum.
